# Dimmit vs SmartSelect

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Dimmit at none against SmartSelect's 1. Dimmit also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). SmartSelect's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 10 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmartSelect sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Dimmit asks for nothing beyond the download.

Dimmit ships an update every 10 months, SmartSelect every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
