# Hemis vs Qalan

The clearest difference is rating: Hemis at 4.1 against Qalan's 3.3. Hemis also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (125 vs 7). Qalan's advantage is review sentiment (29% vs 13%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Qalan sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $89.99 per month. Hemis asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hemis holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hemis has 125 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Hemis's written reviews are positive against 29% of Qalan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hemis ships an update every 3 weeks, Qalan every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
