# Less Notes vs Focus3

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Less Notes at none against Focus3's 3. Less Notes also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and review sentiment (100% vs 76%). Focus3's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus3 sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Less Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.

Focus3 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 14 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Less Notes's written reviews are positive against 76% of Focus3's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Less Notes ships an update every 2 days, Focus3 fortnightly. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
