# Pudding Scan vs Daaay

The clearest difference is monetization model: Daaay at freemium against Pudding Scan's subscription. Daaay also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 91%). Pudding Scan's advantage is ratings volume (210 vs 6) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pudding Scan sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Daaay sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pudding Scan against 5.0 for Daaay. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pudding Scan has 210 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of Pudding Scan's written reviews are positive against 100% of Daaay's.

Pudding Scan ships an update every 5 weeks, Daaay every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
