# Pudding Scan vs Unit Converter

The clearest difference is monetization model: Unit Converter at freemium against Pudding Scan's subscription. Unit Converter also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks) and review sentiment (100% vs 91%). Pudding Scan's advantage is ratings volume (211 vs 18) and iOS requirement (13 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pudding Scan sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Unit Converter sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pudding Scan against 4.9 for Unit Converter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pudding Scan has 211 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of Pudding Scan's written reviews are positive against 100% of Unit Converter's.

Pudding Scan ships an update every 5 weeks, Unit Converter every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
