# Pudding Scan vs AIdea

The clearest difference is monetization model: AIdea at free with in-app purchases against Pudding Scan's subscription. AIdea also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13). Pudding Scan's advantage is ratings volume (211 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pudding Scan sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and AIdea sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pudding Scan against 5.0 for AIdea. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pudding Scan has 211 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pudding Scan ships an update every 5 weeks, AIdea every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
