# Book vs Taaruf

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Book at 100% against Taaruf's 21%. Book also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 16) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). Taaruf's advantage is ratings volume (432 vs 5) and rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Taaruf sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Book asks for nothing beyond the download.

Taaruf holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Taaruf has 432 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Book's written reviews are positive against 21% of Taaruf's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Book ships an update every 2 weeks, Taaruf fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
