# floccus vs NoteSurf

The clearest difference is rating: NoteSurf at 5.0 against floccus's 3.7. NoteSurf also leads on monetization model (free vs paid) and update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly). floccus's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NoteSurf holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: floccus has 22 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

floccus ships an update monthly, NoteSurf every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
