# LensDirect vs StantonOptical

LensDirect and StantonOptical both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of LensDirect's written reviews are positive against 0% of StantonOptical's. LensDirect also leads on ratings volume (657 vs 97). StantonOptical's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

StantonOptical holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LensDirect has 657 ratings behind it against 97, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of LensDirect's written reviews are positive against 0% of StantonOptical's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LensDirect ships an update every 10 days, StantonOptical every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
