# HeyChina vs Edmicro HSK

The clearest difference is ads: Edmicro HSK at none against HeyChina's shown. Edmicro HSK also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 81%). HeyChina's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (215 vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HeyChina sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 3 months and Edmicro HSK sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HeyChina holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HeyChina has 215 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of HeyChina's written reviews are positive against 100% of Edmicro HSK's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HeyChina ships an update every 5 days, Edmicro HSK every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
