# StepsOff vs Metagauge

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Metagauge at 43% against StepsOff's 0%. StepsOff's advantage is rating (3.2 vs 1.0) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

StepsOff holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of StepsOff's written reviews are positive against 43% of Metagauge's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

StepsOff ships an update every 4 days, Metagauge weekly. Both last shipped on November 4, 2026.
