# TransferNow vs Smart Switch

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Smart Switch at none against TransferNow's 3. Smart Switch also leads on review sentiment (54% vs 29%) and ratings volume (745 vs 198). TransferNow's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.6 vs 4.2). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TransferNow sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Smart Switch asks for nothing beyond the download.

TransferNow holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 198 and 745 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of TransferNow's written reviews are positive against 54% of Smart Switch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
