# Compress vs Pixie wallpaper

The clearest difference is update cadence: Pixie wallpaper at every 8 days against Compress's every 2 months. Pixie wallpaper also leads on review sentiment (69% vs 55%). Compress's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (579 vs 15). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Compress sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Pixie wallpaper sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Compress holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Compress has 579 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Compress's written reviews are positive against 69% of Pixie wallpaper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Compress ships an update every 2 months, Pixie wallpaper every 8 days. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
