# Umi vs LingoLens

The clearest difference is ads: LingoLens at none against Umi's shown. LingoLens also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Umi's advantage is ratings volume (2.7K vs 1) and chart position (#192 vs unranked). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Umi sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and LingoLens sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LingoLens holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Umi has 2.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Umi ships an update every 10 days, LingoLens every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
