# Moment vs RootKey

The clearest difference is update cadence: RootKey at daily against Moment's fortnightly. RootKey also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). Moment's advantage is ratings volume (21 vs 1) and monetization model (freemium vs paid). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Moment sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year and RootKey sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Moment against 5.0 for RootKey. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Moment has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Moment's written reviews are positive against 100% of RootKey's.

Moment ships an update fortnightly, RootKey daily. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
