# Trygg vs encyfr

The clearest difference is update cadence: Trygg at weekly against encyfr's every 2 months. Trygg also leads on iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trygg sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and encyfr sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trygg ships an update weekly, encyfr every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
