# 3D Offline Maps vs Earth Maps

The clearest difference is update cadence: 3D Offline Maps at weekly against Earth Maps's every 3 weeks. Earth Maps's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 3D Offline Maps sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Earth Maps sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Earth Maps holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 647 and 1.2K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of 3D Offline Maps's written reviews are positive against 78% of Earth Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

3D Offline Maps ships an update weekly, Earth Maps every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
