# Family Bash vs Delete After Reading

The clearest difference is monetization model: Family Bash at free against Delete After Reading's free with in-app purchases. Family Bash also leads on review sentiment (64% vs 50%). Delete After Reading's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 4.0) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.2). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Family Bash sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Delete After Reading sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Delete After Reading holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 26 and 74 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Family Bash's written reviews are positive against 50% of Delete After Reading's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Family Bash ships an update every 2 weeks, Delete After Reading every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
