# Family Bash vs The Bear

The clearest difference is rating: The Bear at 4.6 against Family Bash's 4.0. The Bear also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 26) and review sentiment (78% vs 64%). Family Bash's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Family Bash sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and The Bear sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Bear holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Bear has 1.1K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Family Bash's written reviews are positive against 78% of The Bear's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
