# My IP Address Location vs CipherNook

The clearest difference is rating: CipherNook at 5.0 against My IP Address Location's 4.5. CipherNook also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). My IP Address Location's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 50%) and ratings volume (32 vs 1). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

My IP Address Location costs $1.90 and CipherNook $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CipherNook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My IP Address Location has 32 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of My IP Address Location's written reviews are positive against 50% of CipherNook's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
