# InfoMaps vs Mapway

The clearest difference is rating: Mapway at 4.4 against InfoMaps's 3.0. Mapway also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 3). InfoMaps's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 14) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mapway sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. InfoMaps asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mapway holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mapway has 1.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of InfoMaps's written reviews are positive against 25% of Mapway's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
