# Freedcamp Chat vs Capacities

The clearest difference is rating: Freedcamp Chat at 5.0 against Capacities's 4.3. Freedcamp Chat also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2). Capacities's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (115 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Capacities sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month. Freedcamp Chat asks for nothing beyond the download.

Freedcamp Chat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Capacities has 115 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Freedcamp Chat's written reviews are positive against 58% of Capacities's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Freedcamp Chat ships an update every 2 months, Capacities weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
