# Root Growth vs Thief Puzzle

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Root Growth at 1.4K against Thief Puzzle's 22. Root Growth also leads on review sentiment (15% vs 0%). Thief Puzzle's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for Root Growth against 4.0 for Thief Puzzle. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Root Growth has 1.4K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 15% of Root Growth's written reviews are positive against 0% of Thief Puzzle's.

Root Growth ships an update monthly, Thief Puzzle fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
