# Forsgate vs Carrier SmartHome

The clearest difference is rating: Forsgate at 5.0 against Carrier SmartHome's 3.5. Forsgate also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Carrier SmartHome's advantage is ratings volume (2.5K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Forsgate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carrier SmartHome has 2.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Forsgate ships an update every 5 weeks, Carrier SmartHome fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
