# Focus vs CoHear

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CoHear at 100% against Focus's 54%. CoHear also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Focus's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (4.9K vs 11). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and CoHear sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CoHear holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus has 4.9K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 54% of Focus's written reviews are positive against 100% of CoHear's.

Focus ships an update every 3 weeks, CoHear every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
