# Digital Planner vs Digital Planner for iPad

The clearest difference is monetization model: Digital Planner at free with in-app purchases against Digital Planner for iPad's subscription. Digital Planner also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 2.1K). Digital Planner for iPad's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (44% vs 21%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Planner sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Digital Planner for iPad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Digital Planner against 4.3 for Digital Planner for iPad. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digital Planner has 14K ratings behind it against 2.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 21% of Digital Planner's written reviews are positive against 44% of Digital Planner for iPad's.

Digital Planner ships an update every 3 weeks, Digital Planner for iPad every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
