# Timer vs Stopwatch

The clearest difference is rating: Stopwatch at 5.0 against Timer's 4.4. Stopwatch also leads on ads (none vs shown). Timer's advantage is ratings volume (29 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Stopwatch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stopwatch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timer has 29 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Timer ships an update fortnightly, Stopwatch every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
