# The Spire vs Spellbound Valley

The clearest difference is update cadence: Spellbound Valley at every 5 months against The Spire's every 44 months. Spellbound Valley also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Spire sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Spellbound Valley sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Spire ships an update every 44 months, Spellbound Valley every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
