# LuckyComic vs Comic Scanner

The clearest difference is ads: LuckyComic at none against Comic Scanner's shown. LuckyComic also leads on review sentiment (22% vs 0%) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Comic Scanner's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.1). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LuckyComic sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Comic Scanner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Comic Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 41 and 50 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of LuckyComic's written reviews are positive against 0% of Comic Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LuckyComic ships an update every 5 weeks, Comic Scanner every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on August 29, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
