# BigPaper vs Charactiverse

The clearest difference is rating: Charactiverse at 4.5 against BigPaper's 4.0. BigPaper's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BigPaper sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Charactiverse sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Charactiverse holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BigPaper has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BigPaper ships an update every 5 days, Charactiverse every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
