# xade roast vs Nelko

The clearest difference is monetization model: xade roast at freemium against Nelko's subscription. Nelko's advantage is ratings volume (21K vs 1) and chart position (#161 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. xade roast sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Nelko sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for xade roast against 4.9 for Nelko. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nelko has 21K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

xade roast ships an update fortnightly, Nelko every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
