# Knitandnote vs HookSnap

The clearest difference is rating: HookSnap at 5.0 against Knitandnote's 3.9. HookSnap also leads on ads (none vs shown). Knitandnote's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (184 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Knitandnote sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $11.90 per month and HookSnap sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HookSnap holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Knitandnote has 184 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Knitandnote ships an update every 2 weeks, HookSnap every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
