# WIS vs Excellent English

The clearest difference is monetization model: WIS at freemium against Excellent English's subscription. Excellent English's advantage is review sentiment (93% vs 59%) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WIS sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Excellent English sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
