# WIS vs TutorCat

The clearest difference is rating: WIS at 4.5 against TutorCat's 4.1. WIS also leads on ratings volume (277 vs 8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). TutorCat's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 59%) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WIS sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and TutorCat sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WIS holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WIS has 277 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of WIS's written reviews are positive against 75% of TutorCat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WIS ships an update every 3 weeks, TutorCat every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
