# Dear Bear vs StudySync

The clearest difference is rating: StudySync at 5.0 against Dear Bear's 4.5. StudySync also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs every 2 months). Dear Bear's advantage is ratings volume (68 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dear Bear sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and StudySync sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StudySync holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dear Bear has 68 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Dear Bear ships an update every 2 months, StudySync daily. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
