# OnBeat vs VideoBeat

The clearest difference is rating: OnBeat at 4.7 against VideoBeat's 2.0. OnBeat also leads on ratings volume (2.4K vs 1). VideoBeat's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly) and review sentiment (50% vs 30%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OnBeat sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and VideoBeat sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OnBeat holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OnBeat has 2.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of OnBeat's written reviews are positive against 50% of VideoBeat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OnBeat ships an update fortnightly, VideoBeat every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
