# GW Reader vs ReadMe

The clearest difference is rating: ReadMe at 4.5 against GW Reader's 3.6. ReadMe also leads on ratings volume (49 vs 7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GW Reader sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and ReadMe sells 25 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReadMe holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ReadMe has 49 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GW Reader ships an update every 2 weeks, ReadMe every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
