Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Pipeline Local at 5.0 against Explorer's Circle's 3.0. Pipeline Local also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Explorer's Circle's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
