# Luxe Du Jour vs Authentic Detective

The clearest difference is rating: Authentic Detective at 4.9 against Luxe Du Jour's 4.0. Authentic Detective also leads on ratings volume (297 vs 8). Luxe Du Jour's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Authentic Detective holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Authentic Detective has 297 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Luxe Du Jour's written reviews are positive against 89% of Authentic Detective's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Luxe Du Jour ships an update fortnightly, Authentic Detective every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
