# Moonovel vs Booktory

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Moonovel at 92% against Booktory's 45%. Moonovel also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Booktory's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Moonovel sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Booktory sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Booktory holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Booktory has 629 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Moonovel's written reviews are positive against 45% of Booktory's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Moonovel ships an update every 2 months, Booktory every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
