# Lock Launcher vs Koco Widgets

The clearest difference is monetization model: Koco Widgets at free with in-app purchases against Lock Launcher's subscription. Lock Launcher's advantage is ratings volume (3.9K vs 333) and review sentiment (81% vs 70%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lock Launcher sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Koco Widgets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Lock Launcher against 4.6 for Koco Widgets. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lock Launcher has 3.9K ratings behind it against 333, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 81% of Lock Launcher's written reviews are positive against 70% of Koco Widgets's.

Lock Launcher ships an update every 9 days, Koco Widgets weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
