# Opticon Events vs Sitecore Events

The clearest difference is rating: Opticon Events at 5.0 against Sitecore Events's 4.3. Sitecore Events's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (26 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Opticon Events holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sitecore Events has 26 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Opticon Events ships an update every 4 months, Sitecore Events every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
