# SimAPP vs Controller

The clearest difference is update cadence: Controller at every 3 months against SimAPP's every 5 months. Controller also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SimAPP ships an update every 5 months, Controller every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
