# Cafe Mexicali vs G

The clearest difference is rating: G at 4.7 against Cafe Mexicali's 3.1. G also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 50%) and update cadence (every 6 months vs every 23 months). Cafe Mexicali's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

G holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: G has 146 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Cafe Mexicali's written reviews are positive against 77% of G's.

Cafe Mexicali ships an update every 23 months, G every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
