# Mindgrasp vs Penseum

The clearest difference is rating: Mindgrasp at 4.7 against Penseum's 3.2. Mindgrasp also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 14 months) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 9). Penseum's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (60% vs 31%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mindgrasp sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Penseum asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mindgrasp holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mindgrasp has 1.1K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Mindgrasp's written reviews are positive against 60% of Penseum's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mindgrasp ships an update every 3 weeks, Penseum every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
