# German Dictionary for Learners vs SpeakGator

The clearest difference is rating: German Dictionary for Learners at 4.9 against SpeakGator's 3.8. German Dictionary for Learners also leads on ratings volume (733 vs 5). SpeakGator's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. German Dictionary for Learners sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and SpeakGator sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

German Dictionary for Learners holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: German Dictionary for Learners has 733 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of German Dictionary for Learners's written reviews are positive against 100% of SpeakGator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

German Dictionary for Learners ships an update every 2 weeks, SpeakGator every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
