# NYCPee vs Sidewalk

The clearest difference is rating: Sidewalk at 4.6 against NYCPee's 3.7. Sidewalk also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 weeks). NYCPee's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NYCPee sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Sidewalk asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sidewalk holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sidewalk has 990 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of NYCPee's written reviews are positive against 73% of Sidewalk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NYCPee ships an update every 4 weeks, Sidewalk every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
