# MyNotes vs Gallery Lock

The clearest difference is ads: MyNotes at none against Gallery Lock's shown. MyNotes also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Gallery Lock's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 40%) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 47). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyNotes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per year and Gallery Lock sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyNotes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gallery Lock has 1.8K ratings behind it against 47, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of MyNotes's written reviews are positive against 74% of Gallery Lock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyNotes ships an update every 3 months, Gallery Lock every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
