# MyNotes vs Nearing

The clearest difference is update cadence: Nearing at every 2 days against MyNotes's every 3 months. Nearing also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). MyNotes's advantage is ratings volume (46 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyNotes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per year and Nearing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nearing holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyNotes has 46 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MyNotes ships an update every 3 months, Nearing every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
