# MyNotes vs Écrin

The clearest difference is ads: MyNotes at none against Écrin's shown. MyNotes also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Écrin's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyNotes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per year and Écrin sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyNotes ships an update every 3 months, Écrin every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
